Koç University Office of Learning and Teaching (KOLT) was established in November 2009, becoming the first office of its kind in Türkiye. The mission of KOLT is to lead and support continual development of learning and teaching in KU. To achieve this mission, KOLT provides services to students, faculty members, and teaching assistants.

– KOLT opens Teaching Innovation Grants program every semester. The program award grants to the faculty members and instructors to develop their teaching practices that lead to active student learning.  Funding may be requested for a wide variety of activities related to undergraduate and graduate level teaching such as course improvement/revision, curricular innovation, and integration of educational technologies (Blackboard, cliclers, vPad, etc.). Applications from individual faculty members as well as groups of faculty who collaborate to teach a course are welcome. Faculty members who are interested in this program are encouraged to attend Teaching Innovation Grants Workshops that are organized by KOLT at the end of each semester. Recipients of TIGs present their projects and KOLT staff will answer the participants’ questions about the TIG program application process. Faculty Members who wish to apply for Teaching Innovation Grants should follow the call for TIG program that is announced a month before the beginning of each academic semester.
